Athletes Changing Tomorrow is held its first event, ACT For Darfur 5K & 10K Run on Nov 8th, 2009 in Center Moriches. Proceeds from this event will be donated to Relief International to support their humanitarian aide programs in Darfur. Athletes Changing Tomorrow is a non profit organization that supports humanitarian relief, domestic and international.

Since the eruption of conflict in 2003, Darfur, western Sudan, has been ravaged by killings, torture, destruction and rape. Despite international outrage and demands around the globe to end the brutality, the deadly conflict continues. Darfur remains one of the world’s worst human rights and humanitarian catastrophes. As a result of this conflict, over 300,000 men, women, and children have died and 2.6 million have been displaced. An unknown number of women and girls have been abducted, raped, and abused, and a generation of children has reached school-age not knowing a home.

According to the United Nations, 4.7 million people in Darfur rely on humanitarian aid for food, healthcare, clean water, and countless other services. Women and children make up the overwhelming majority of those requiring support.

Backed by almost 20 years of experience Relief International provides emergency, rehabilitation and development services that empower the oppressed. RI's programs include health, shelter construction, education, community development, agriculture, food, income-generation, and conflict resolution.

Sponsorship provides a unique advertising opportunity for your business. Sponsors, as well as donors and volunteers, will be listed on our web site for their contribution to this worthy cause. As a business sponsor, ACT will include promotional materials for your business as part of our race registration packet. This is a great opportunity to spread the word about your business and expand your customer base. This is in addition to the exposure that your business will receive on event day.

As a non profit organization, the success of our events depends on the generosity of businesses, families, and individuals that share our goal to make this world a better place. We sincerely thank you for your contribution to support this event. Help make this world a better place for the children and families in Darfur, and for our children’s future.

Sincerely Yours,
